Adventure Club

College Collaborative/Scholarship Club

  • Seniors during the first couple weeks of Q1. Also, any interested Rising Senior can contact Mr. MAC if they are interested in joining the club.

  • College Collaborative and Scholarship Club are about educating and assisting Dater students on their post-secondary opportunities, and helping each senior pick the best 3E pathway (Enroll, Employment, Enlistment) for themselves. UC Ambassadors are the co-leads for this club.

Gardening Club

  • We will be growing edible crops like watermelon, figs, squash, tomatoes, peppers, and basil, for example. Since we cannot work on the aquaponics greenhouse project until we get control of the pandemic, we will be working from home. I will send you seeds to plant, so you, too, can grow homegrown food. We will learn about optimal seed planting depth, watering, temperature, humidity and basic horticulture. I am open to the idea of you taking the lead and teaching the group what you know, too!

Green Dot

  • 9-12 peer nominated students
  • Peer-nominated students are invited to attend Bystander trainings with GreenDot, learning violence prevention strategies to encourage anti-violence amongst their peers. These students  are then invited to attend monthly Booster trainings and the GrenDot Schoology group page

S.A.B.E.R. (Student Achievement through Building and Exploring Relationships)

  • Any student grades 11 & 12

  • SABER (Student Achievement through Building and Establishing Relationships) was established to support and encourage high school students at Gilbert Dater High School to succeed in their future goals with the help of a “near peer” mentor at UCBA. Participants in SABER will be provided support services and activities that aid in their success and personal enrichment. Through this program students can seek academic, social and personal support through mentorship, workshops, programs and special events.
