Country Music Association Foundation Awards Grants to CPS Schools

January 15, 2019

The Country Music Association Foundation has awarded a $30,000 grant to Cincinnati Public Schools, helping keep its arts programs alive. CMA Foundation announced that Cincinnati Public Schools' Music Resource Center has been awarded the grant, enabling the district to offer popular music programming and resources at selected schools. Guitars lessons, studio time and various state-of-the-art musical instruments are all at the fingertips of students from grades 7–12 at the Music Resource Center.

For 10 years, the Music Resource Center has provided a safe place Cincinnati teens to create music, and now it's available at two CPS high schools: Dater High School and Gamble Montessori.

Last year alone, the MRC served more than 200 students and logged more than 7,000 studio hours. This year, the CMA Foundation grant will help the center to expand it's musical footprint.
