Dater students are:
DETERMINED
ACHIEVING
THRIVING
ENGAGED
RESPONSIBLE
At Dater High School, we are committed to creating a community built on mutual respect and dedicated to the academic, social, and emotional growth of every student. We expect all students to contribute to a positive school culture by showing respect toward administrators, teachers, substitutes, classified staff (including cafeteria workers, custodians, and security personnel), peers, visitors, and volunteers.
We believe that every member of our community deserves to feel safe and valued. Therefore, we expect students to conduct themselves in a way that promotes a safe environment, free from any form of physical or emotional harassment.
Our PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) framework is designed to encourage and reinforce positive behavior. At Dater, students are explicitly taught our Core Values and are recognized for demonstrating them across all areas of school life. All staff members model and reinforce these values, ensuring consistency and clarity in behavioral expectations.
We recognize that our community is diverse and that not all students arrive with the same understanding of what is expected. That’s why we intentionally teach and model these behaviors—to ensure every student knows what it means to be part of the Dater community.
The Dater community is invested in preparing students for success beyond high school. Success requires the ability to adapt to various settings, plan for the future, and take purposeful action. Dater’s Core Values are designed to guide students in developing these essential life skills, empowering them to be prepared, respectful, and ultimately successful.
Dater’s Core Values will apply to students:
- while on the school grounds and in classrooms
- while going to or from school
- during lunch
- during or while going to or from any school-sponsored activities/trips
- during any other event related to school activities or attendance
