Principal

Principal Jasmine Madison

I am excited, proud and humbled to serve as Principal at Gilbert A. Dater High School for another school year.  We are currently in our third year of implementing the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program and look forward to being an accredited IB school this year! I am honored to be part of a dedicated and caring school community.

About me:

I’ve had the pleasure of serving in the field of education for 22 years. I worked at The Children’s Home of Cincinnati for 20 of those years, where I had the opportunity to learn and grow as a teacher and school administrator.  I’ve worked with students ranging in grades from Kindergarten through high school with significant behavior and learning challenges. I believe that all students can learn and excel when given the appropriate support and guidance. I bring my skills as a special educator and educational leader to Dater and I will continue to partner with you to increase student engagement and achievement.

On a personal note, I grew up in Columbus, Ohio and, after graduating from high school, I moved here to attend the University of Cincinnati. After earning a bachelor's  degree in Sociology, I continued my studies at The College of Mount St. Joseph, where I earned a masters' degree in Special Education.  I reside in Mt. Airy with my husband and daughter.

I am a proud Girl Scout Leader and find great reward in empowering girls to be future leaders. In my free time, I enjoy DIY projects, arts & crafts, gardening, shopping and spending time with family and friends.

I understand that now more than ever, our students need a great deal of academic and social-emotional support as they deal with the impact of the pandemic while striving to meet academic expectations. I look forward to partnering with all of you to provide that guidance and support. One of the important aspects of my work here at Dater will be collaborating with our school community to improve outcomes for students. You’ll find me in hallways, classrooms, and at special activities. I welcome your input and ideas. Our students will always be the primary focus of our work.

Sincerely,
Jasmine Madison
